It gives me great pleasure to invite you to attend the Association’s International Surgical Congress in Harrogate, from Wednesday 30th April to Friday 2nd May 2014, which will be held at the Harrogate International Centre (HIC). Situated in the heart of the UK, Harrogate is a picturesque spa town full of history and character. It has grown to be one of the best events industry destinations in the country and the HIC is one of the largest purpose-built event venues in the north, regularly welcoming national conferences and exhibitions.
The theme of this year’s Congress is ‘Education and Innovation’ and we aim to make it an even greater success than our 2013 event in Glasgow, which saw 1,100 medical delegates attending over three days. As in 2013, the annual Association of Trauma & Military Surgery (ATMS) Conference will run parallel to ASGBI on the Wednesday. We are also pleased to inform you that the 2014 Congress will host a number of other parallel events. The International Conference on Surgical Education and Training (ICOSET) will take place on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th April and the Association of Surgeons in Primary Care (ASPC) will be holding workshops on Thursday 1st May. We are also pleased to be hosting a symposium entitled “The Surgeon and the Primary/Secondary Care Interface” on Friday morning. This is being run in partnership with the Royal College of General Practitioners and we are delighted that the RCGP President, Professor Mike Pringle, will be speaking in this session. Professor Pringle is one of the many high-profile speakers we are welcoming to Harrogate in 2014.Read More →
