The Association’s annual competition for the best video has been generously sponsored by the BJS Society and Wiley.

Entries must be of general surgical interest, suitable for an audience of consultants and higher surgical trainees and may include topic presentations as well as operative surgery. Commentaries must be in English and films must be no longer than 10 minutes in length. A two minute discussion will follow each presentation. A list of equipment used for the production must accompany each entry, together with full names and qualifications of those most involved in making the film.

All accepted videos will be shown on plasma screens throughout the 2017 Congress and will be judged by members of the ASGBI Scientific Committee. The winners will be announced at the Prize Giving Session on Thursday 4th May 2017. Entries will be judged according to surgical interest, teaching value and technical merit.
