2009 Price Thomas Travelling Fellowships
The Travelling Surgical Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is pleased to invite applications for the 2009 Price Thomas Travelling Fellowships.
The Travelling Surgical Society of Great Britain and Northern Ireland is a group of some 50 surgeons from across the United Kingdom which travels to meet with surgeons from leading hospitals and surgical departments around the world and in the UK. These are academic and clinical meetings and the purpose is to encourage educational and surgical exchange. The Society was founded in 1924 with Lord Moynihan as it's first president, Sir Clement Price Thomas being the third. His son Martyn was also a member.
These awards were established in their memory. There will be two bursaries for senior trainees and consultants within ten years of first appointment. The holders of the 2009 awards will travel to Iceland with the Travelling Surgical Society from 30th May to June 6th 2009. During this time they will deliver at least two papers each at scientific meetings at Landspittal and Akranes Hospitals The bursaries will cover registration fees, travelling expenses, hotel costs and all organised meals.
