Section of Surgery of the European Union of Medical Specialists Joint ASGBI Pre-Meeting Symposium

Friday 13th May 2016

UEMS will be running an all-day symposium session with ASGBI for members of the UEMS Section of Surgery and other Congress delegates as part of 2016 Belfast Surgical Week from 10.00 to 15.00 on Friday 13th May 2016 at the Belfast Waterfront. Details of the programme, including topics and speakers, will be published on this site in due course, so please check again soon.

Please register your attendance at the pre-meeting symposium here before Friday 1st April 2016 so that delegate badges can be prepared in advance, and the onsite registration runs as smoothly and efficiently as possible.

UEMS Exams

Wednesday 11th and Thursday 12th May 2016

UEMS will also be hosting two exams, a MCQ Exam on Wednesday 11th May, and an OSCE Exam on Thursday 12th May 2016 at the Belfast Waterfront venue.

Registration for the exams should be made directly via the UEMS Secretariat, who will also be able to provide exact room locations in due course.

 

Section of Surgery of the European Union of Medical Specialists Business Meeting

Saturday 14th May 2016

On Saturday 14th May 2016, the UEMS will hold their Meeting of the Section of Surgery at the Radisson Blu hotel in Belfast, which will be the UEMS Headquarter hotel during 2016 Belfast Surgical Week.

Concert at the Ulster Hall

Friday 13th May 2016

On the evening of Friday 13th May 2016, all Congress delegates have been invited by Belfast City Council to watch the Ulster Orchestra and soprano, Ailish Tynan perform Mozart and Stravinsky at the Ulster Hall. The performance will commence at 19.45 and Belfast City Council is kindly hosting a reception in the Group Space beforehand. The reception will begin at 18.30 and will be attended by the conductor, Jac van Steen.

UEMS DINNER

Saturday 14th May 2016

ASGBI will be hosting a dinner for UEMS delegates on the evening of Saturday 14th May 2016 following the Business Meeting of the Section of Surgery. Three courses of local Northern Irish produce will be served at Hadskis at 19.00 – please arrive promptly for this sitting. Following the dinner, which ends at 21.00, delegates are invited to the Dark Horse, where they will be able to enjoy live local music and have the chance to pour their own pints of Guinness!

Please register for you and your spouse here, before Friday 1st April 2016, if you will be attending the dinner.

Social Programme for Accompanying Persons

Saturday 14th May 2016

Accompanying persons are invited to meet in the lobby of the Radisson Blu hotel at 09.45 on the morning of Saturday 14th May, and will walk to the Belfast City Hall where a guided tour will be provided. Following this, there will be a walking tour of the city beginning at 10.45. At 12.30 a lunch has been booked in St George’s Market. After lunch, partners are free to explore the city on their own or can visit the Victoria Square Shopping Centre.
